Scott is an international award-winning Design Director / Art Director originally from New Zealand, now based in Canada.
Staring down 15 years’ experience working in design, his work covers conceptual editorial design, brand design, advertising art direction, and everything that falls within.
That may be a lot of things, but whether it’s for waste management giants, a postpartum support house, a city of 1.5 million, or stuffed-crust pizza, he brings the same relentless hunt for the big idea and an emotional intelligence that leaves even the most complex subjects simple and full of feeling.

*As Leadership
Virtuous Circle Counselling appraoched us looking to create an emotive brand video. They wanted to encourage adults going through what is known as "small T trauma" (divorce, death of a parent, losing a job, etc) to simply begin talking about it.
Armed with a shoestring budget, our strategy was to look to one of our simplest tools: words. Or lack thereof, in this case.
Almost all of us have un-typed a message or two, choosing to simplify a response or brush something off rather than finding the words to say what it is we really feel, lest we feel judged or misunderstood. So we based the series of videos around this (fairly) universal experience, using all-too-familiar messaging UI’s, exploring visual cues of indecision and emoji-dismissal.
This required intense attention to detail in the motion design to ensure typing rhythms and haptic timings had all the same humanness of the very message we were trying to get across.
This led to a series of short videos that truly capture the empathy of VCC’s therapists, letting the audience know they are understood and supported in beginning the conversation.
